GURDWARA BER SAHIB

Gurdwara Ber Sahib is right on the left bank of the rivulet Kali Bein west of the old town Sultanpur Lodhi. Guru Nanak Dev ji used to take his early morning bath in the Bein here and sit in meditation under a ber tree nearby. Where the Guru sat became a temple. The very place itself became sacred and an exquisite Gurdwara was constructed which is now a prominent gurdwara of the area. Some major religious functions take place at regular intervals in the gurdwara. Bhai Arjan Singh Bagarian founded the present building of the Gurdwara in the year 1937 and after completion, the then Maharaja of Patiala inaugurated the same in 1941. Numerous rooms form a part of the gurdwara complex to accommodate regular stream of visitors to the place.
